Speaker: Entrepreneur Mr. Jake Keyes is launching his new business Skydance Brewing in Oklahoma City
Jake made his first brew in 2012. He took his beers to local festivals like the OKBIO Brewfest held at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and ZOObrew held at OKC Zoo. And now Skydance Brewing Co will be holding their Launch Party at the Brewer’s Union in OKC on Dec 29. Come to the NC Chapter meeting to hear what he did to create this new business.
Jake is a citizen of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma and the grandson of the late Lawrence Murray. He spent the past decade serving his tribe by holding various management roles within both gaming and non-gaming enterprises. He and his team built, opened and managed the Ioway Casino in Chandler, OK in 2013. He also served the Absentee Shawnee Tribe by volunteering as a reserve police officer on the AST tribal police department for 4 years.
In October of 2018, he left his career with the Iowa Tribe to begin living the dream of becoming an entrepreneur and started the first native owned craft brewery in Oklahoma City. On December 29th, he will serve their beer to the public for the first time. Their mission is to use beer as a vehicle to bring good people together while also responsibly representing our native people and helping to change the way the outside world views the relationship between Native Americans and alcohol from that of a negative view to one of artistry.
