This month’s speaker is Michael Stopp, CEO and Principal of SevenStar Holdings, a company created to assist American Indian owned businesses. He’s Former Chief of Staff for Markwayne Mullin, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. In 2020, Stopp was Governor appointed and Senate confirmed to the role of Oklahoma Athletic Commissioner. He serves on multiple boards, notably, the Atlanta Braves Native American Working Group and the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce, among many others. Mike donates his time to several service organizations and education programs, including the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation. While a cadet at West Point, he founded the Native American Heritage Forum, which recruits American Indian cadets, creates a community for them while attending the Academy and exposes cadets and faculty to Native American culture. The program continues to thrive and has been adopted by both the U.S. Naval and U.S. Air Force Academies. Stopp fills his free time moonlighting as a high school sports official and an amateur actor. He has officiated the Indigenous Bowl since 2019. Although multiple, Stopp’s most notable acting performance was in a short film, detailing the life of his 7th great-grandmother, Nanyehi.
