Event Information:

Since creating The PATH in 2003 to provide strategic planning, training, and consulting services, Hoyit Bacon has been in demand throughout Indian Country and with the U.S. government and major entities such as Goodwill Industries, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and The Williams Companies.

Bacon’s love for this work led him to move from his successful 20-year career in the financial services industry after earning his degree in Business Management. But he has had no regrets.

“My passion is working with Indian Country leaders and facilitating strategies that optimize greatness for tribes and those they serve.”

His focus and specialization are Leadership and Communication Skills Development. His extensive experience has confirmed to him how much more is accomplished with effective communication and highly tuned leadership skills, as well as the extent to which employee fulfillment dramatically improves performance.

Hoyit’s lifelong dedication to empowering and strengthening Native Nations and their citizens follows in the footsteps of his Choctaw father and Seneca-Cayuga mother – both of whom held leadership roles at the Indian Hospital in Talihina. His father was a Korean War Veteran, and his mother, as a Registered Nurse, was the Director of Nursing.

Despite driving a staggering 55,000 miles a year for The PATH, Hoyit’s commitment to serving is demonstrated by his advocacy outside of work. He recently served as a Councilperson with the Seneca-Cayuga Nation and previously worked on its Tax Commission and its Grievance Committee.

He is the Chairperson of the Oklahoma Inter-Tribal Technology Cohort, which promotes forward?thinking conversations on technology in Indian Country. Hoyit’s commitment to Native youth led him to chair the Tribal arm of the Oklahoma Scholars education initiative.

Hoyit’s contributions to his community have included:

• Chairman, Grand Lake Association

• Board Member, Grove Area Chamber of Commerce

• Vice-Chairman, Oklahoma Tribal Financial Consortium

• Board Member, Grand Gateway Economic Development Association
