Speaker Information:

Please join us as we welcome Wilson Pipestem (President-Pipestem Law, Otoe Missouria/Osage) as he shares updates and insights from his work as a Tribal advocate and litigator.  Pipestem represents Tribal Nations in federal court, advocating for Tribal Sovereignty and social justice for Native People.  His career has been dedicated to protecting the rights of tribal governments and American Indians. The evolving political and power dynamics in our nation present an opportune moment to discuss the challenges and opportunities we face.

Pipestem grew up accompanying his father, Browning Pipestem, to Tribal Court and Tribal Council meetings.  Watching his father work was highly impactful and inspired him to want to become a lawyer. Pipestem went to Oklahoma State University on a cross-country scholarship and majored in English. He went on to earn his law degree from Stanford Law School in California, and afterward began his legal career in Washington, D.C. There he began his practice advising and representing Tribal clients on a wide range of issues before founding Pipestem Law in 1999.
