Additional Information: Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell will discuss modernization of economic development practices, businesses partnering with education, and career training programs for Workforce Development.
Speaker Information: Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell was elected as the 17th Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma on November 6, 2018. In July 2023, Pinnell was appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt to serve as Secretary of Workforce Development. As Secretary of Workforce Development, Pinnell will work closely with Departments of Education and Commerce to emphasize the workforce pipeline and economic development for the state.
Pinnell is a recruiter for companies looking to move or expand to Oklahoma. As an entrepreneur himself, Pinnell champions small business growth. He serves on the Oklahoma Department of Commerce committee focused on small business growth, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. In 2022, he launched ‘A Look at Oklahoma CareerTech,’ a video interview series that showcases the education and employment opportunities the state’s CareerTech system provides.
Lt. Governor Pinnell is President of the Oklahoma State Senate. He has served as Oklahoma’s first Secretary of Tourism since January 2019.
