Speaker Information: After receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northeastern State University, Amanda Swope began her career in nonprofit management as a Development Director, fundraising and grant writing for social services organizations in Tulsa. She began working at the Muscogee Nation in 2018 after completing a Master of Public Administration program at University of Oklahoma.
In her first role at the tribe, Amanda served as a Self-Governance Analyst negotiating federal compacts and identifying areas of sovereignty expansion. Following the historic McGirt ruling in 2020, she accepted a position as the Director of Muscogee Nation’s first standalone Tribal Juvenile Justice department.
In 2022, Amanda was elected to the 59th Legislature of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. While in the legislature Amanda served on the Native American caucus and dedicated her efforts to protecting Indian Education in Oklahoma schools and securing funding to address the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. She left the legislature in 2025 to join Mayor Monroe Nichol’s Office as the City of Tulsa’s first Director of Tribal Policy and Partnerships.
