Andrea Grosz has over twenty years of diverse financial experience. She is a Co-founder and Partner of Lightspring Capital GP, LLC. Lightspring focuses on investments in small, growing businesses with an enterprise value of $10 to $75 million. The firm targets investments in key industry verticals, including business services, consumer products, niche manufacturing and value-added distribution, with a primary focus on opportunities in the Greater Midwest region. Her responsibilities include deal sourcing, execution, portfolio monitoring, marketing, investor relations and operations.
Prior to founding Lightspring Capital Partners, she was a Managing Director at Marquette Capital Partners, a mezzanine debt and equity fund focused on investments in the lower middle market. Before joining Marquette, Andrea was a Director for Baker Tilly and Ernst & Young where she led financial due diligence engagements across a wide range of industries on behalf of private equity funds, mezzanine funds, and strategic buyers. Prior to public accounting, she was a Vice President of Research for Chilton Investment Company, a global investment fund. Andrea began her career in public equities for Wachovia Securities. During her tenure, she provided sector research and investment recommendations to large institutional investors.
Andrea received an MBA from DePaul University and a BA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She also holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Susan Gohman has over twenty years of directly relevant investing and fund experience. She is a co-founder and Partner with Lightspring Capital GP, LLC. Ms. Gohman will be a Principal and Investment Committee Member of the proposed SBIC.
Prior to Lightspring, Ms. Gohman spent 12 years at GMB Mezzanine Capital, an SBIC Mezzanine Fund. Senior-level responsibilities included business development, deal origination, structuring and negotiating transactions, conducting due diligence, executing transactions, overseeing investments, and exits. Ms. Gohman led or co-led the firm’s investment in 16 transactions totaling $76 million in subordinated debt and $36 million in equity.
2000-2004, Associate, Banc of America Capital Investors. Evaluated and executed equity and subordinated debt investments in private lower middle market companies in the manufacturing, business services, and distribution sectors. Portfolio oversight responsibilities for 8 companies totaling more than $42 million in equity investments and $54 million in subordinated debt investments.
1995-1998 Analyst, Prudential Capital Group. Involved in the private placement of senior debt, including investing over $575 million in 14 Midwest-based companies and nearly $300 million in 8 foreign companies.
Ms Gohman earned a BS, University of Minnesota and MBA, University of Chicago. CFA charter holder.
