Speaker: Angela Willits, LUMINA Degree Completion Manager at Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education
In her position, Angela serves as the program manager/developer for the new Reach Higher: DirectComplete adult degree completion initiative. The initiative has been made possible through the Lumina Adult Promise grant awarded to Oklahoma State Regents in June 2017. DirectComplete will provide links to financial and support services for adults who have some college credit but no degree, so they may seek degree completion in fields critical to Oklahoma’s economic future.
Angela is a citizen of the Tohono O’Odham Nation. Prior to joining OSRHE, Angela taught at Tarrant County College, Fort Worth, Texas; she worked for a Department of the Navy Health Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas; and she served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Willits earned a Master’s of Social Work Degree, in Community and Administrative Practice, from University of Texas in Arlington, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Technical Management. Angela was raised in Midwest City, but has just recently returned to Oklahoma, bringing over 25 years of technical training and workplace knowledge.
